  • This research is titled “Working Relationship Pattern of Patron Clients of Songket Craftsmen Housewives in Limbang Jaya Village, Tanjung Batu District, Ogan Ilir District“. Problem statement in this research is a fact that majority songket weaver are a housewife that leads to working relationships between communities, Songket craftsmen with capital owners that lasts for a long time. This occur because of the pattern of patron client relations in the community in the village. This study aims to determine what is the pattern of patron client relation songket craftsman housewives that occurred in Limbang Jaya village and what factors influence the pattern of patron employment relationships of these clients so that it can last long. The method used in this study is a qualitative descriptive method with data collection techniques in the form of observation, deep interview, and documentation. Object sample in this study were selected purposive by taking 8 songket weaver informants, 1 songket entrepreneur, 1 village head of Limbang Jaya and 1 hamlet head in Limbang Jaya Village. The theory used to analyze this research is the theory of James Scoot namely the exchange of relations between the two roles expressed as special case of bonding that involves instrumental friendship between patrons and clients. The result of this study shows that there is a pattern of patron client relationships between songket weavers and owners of songket yarn that tend to be profitable and even tend to be exploited because the weavers earn inappropriate salary to their work, and the factors that influence this pattern of employment relations can last a long time is that there is no other work to be done for helping her husband fulfill the family's economic needs.
