- This research aims to analyze the structure that it exist in the Tarian Dua Wajah novel. This research is a type of qualitative descriptive research that uses a structural approach strategy to examine the structure and meaning contained in novel by means of Levi Strauss's structural theory. The results of the research indicate that there is a structure behind the novel myth that leads to the existence of the opposition in pairs between one element and another element. The two opposing elements are connected by elements and form a position triangle. The structure of the novel refers to the representation of Javanese cultural groups inherent in the character as a representation of the santri group and the abangan group that always be in opposition. The structure then shows the mythical transformation of the Semar puppet characters who implicitly manifested in the novel's character. The conclusion of this research is that the structure of the novel shows that there is a model of thinking on Javanese reason related to harmony as stated in the value of the Javanese, Sak madya. This model of thinking is related in the cosmic universe, especially between science that is owned by humans.
