- This research is entitled "The Development of Assalam Al-Islamy Islamic Boarding Schools in Sri Gunung Village, Sungai Lilin Subdistrict, Musi Banyuasin Regency (2000-2016)". The problem examined in this study is about how the development of Assalam Al-Islamy Islamic Boarding School in 2000- 2016. The purpo se of this study in general is to explain the development of Assalam AlIslamy Islamic Boarding Schools in Sri Gunung Village, Sungai Lilin Subdistrict, Musi Banyuasin Regency (2000-2016). The specific purpose is to explain the contribution of student, teachers, boarding school leaders, and all stakeholder in the development oflslamic boarding school Assalam Al-Islamy In addition to explaining the influence of the Assalam AI-Islamy Islamic Boarding School for the surrounding community, especially the people in Sri Gunung Village, Sungai Lilin Subdistrict, Musi Banyuasin Regency. The methodology used in this research is the historical method . with steps: heuristics, (study literature and interviews), source criticism, interpretation, and historiography. As for the approach used in this research is a multidisciplinary approach. Based on the results of this study it was found that the Assalam Al-Islamy boarding school experienced a significant development in period 2000-2016, especially in terms of facilities and infrastructure, students, graduates , educators ( ustadz, ustadzah dan kiai) and achievements obtained from both academi c and nonacademic fields. In addition, the Islam ic boarding school Assalam Al-lslam y contributed well in educating the surrounding community Isl amic boarding school environment with programs carried out by the Assalam Al-Islamy Islamic Boarding School. The development experienced by the Assalam Al-Islamy Islamic boarding school was inseparable from various parties ranging from local governments to nongovernmental organization s.
