  • Cervical cancer is an emotional trauma and affects the quality of life for women. One of the sufferers undergoes a change from the chemotherapy effect of physical changes such as hair loss, dullness, thinness. The long-term and extremely severe process of therapy in cancer patients requires social support to support treatment adherence. The most important social support is in the form of family support, ie support from spouses, siblings and parents. The study was conducted to determine the relationship of family support with quality of life in cervical cancer patients. The research design used was analytic survey with cross sectional approach. Sampling is done by total sampling technique. The sample in this study was cancer patients in Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang, numbering 51 people with the most age 36-45 years. The results obtained 82.4% of respondents who have high family support, with good quality of life. Fisher test results, it was found that there is a significant relationship between family support and quality of life in cervical cancer patients with p value (0,011), concluded that family support is very important in the process of cervical cancer patients, to support it nurses can involve more active family , providing health education to families about the importance of providing support to cervical cancer patients and assisting during the treatment process.
