- This research is entitled the conflict between rice farmers and buffalo farmers in Desa Sungai Baung Kecamatan Rawas Ulu Kabupaten Musi Rawas Utara. This study examines the problem of how the process and form of conflict between rice farmers and buffalo farmers in Desa Sungai Baung. This research is descriptive qualitative in nature that describes descriptive data from the phenomena studied with unit analysis groups, namely groups of farmers and groups of buffalo predators.In determining the informants used purposive objectives to get more detailed information in accordance with the research problems. The research strategy used is a case study with data collection techniques in the form of observation, in-depth interviews and documentation. The collected data is then analyzed using data reduction analysis techniques, data presentation, and conclusions and triangulation. The results of this study indicate that the process of conflict begins with buffaloes entering the farmers' fields, so that buffalo destroys farmers' rice due to farmers' fields and buffaloes which are released by farmers, the difference in interests between the two social groups is what causes conflict. The form of conflict that occurs is a realistic conflict in which the rice fields which are the place where buffaloes feed for food are made by farmers so that the place for buffaloes looking for food decreases and forms of non-realistic
