  • This research aimed to measure and to compare the performance of standar moldboard plow was stainless moldboard plow on tidal rice field processing. This research with conducted at Makarti Jaya village, sub-district of Makarti Jaya, district of Banyuasin. This research was started from October 2017 to July 2018. Method used in this research was Factorial Randomized Block Design (FRBD) with two treatment factors. They were types of materials (A) and hand tractor speed (B). Each type of materials was consisted of two treatment stages, they were standard steel and stainless steel. The speed of hand tractor was consisted of two treatment stages, they were 2 km/hour and 3 km/hour. Parameters observed in this research were efficiency of soil processing and stickiness of soil. The result of the research showed that stainless steel moldboard plow had higher working efficiency than standard steel moldboard plow. It also affected on the stickiness of soil, moldboard plow made by stainless steel had less stickiness compared to moldboard plow made by standard steel which was produced by manufactory. The average of working efficiency using standard moldboard plow was 49.40% and the stainless one was 68.10%. The average of stickiness of soil using standard moldboard plow was 2.75 kg and stainless steel moldboard plow was 1.28 kg.
