- The purpose of this research is to find out and explain the Influence of the Effectiveness of Inter-Cultural Communication on Student's Adaptation (Study of Overseas Students in the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences of Sriwijaya University 20 I 5 - 2016). The problem in this .study is whether there is an influence of 1he effectiveness of intercultural communication on student's adaptation and how much influences the effectiveness of intercultural communication on student's adaptation. The theory used in this study is the theory of the effectiveness of intercultural communication according to Larry A. Samovar and the student's adaptation theory according to Sverre Lysgard This research uses quantitative methods. Data obtained from primary data is through questionnaires and secondary data such as documents, evidence, and literature. Analysis techniques data using quantitative descriptive · analysis and explanative analysis techniques using simple linear regression. The result of the research showed that theeffectiveness of inter-cultural communication ha.• a significant effect on student'sadaptation of 0,409 or 16.7%. The hypothesis is accepted because, the '=mt is gained by ttabte with 5% significance level with a ratio of 3,582>2,024. Furthermore, this research reveals that there is an influence of the Effectiveness of Inter-Cultural Communication on Overseas Student's Adaptation in the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences ofSriwijaya University 2015 - 2016.
