This research uses IFLS 2014 secondary data, to determine the determinants that influence the determinants that influence the selection of helpers during childbirth in Indonesia. This research is a quantitative research by using cross-sectional study design with sampling using multistage random sampling to get sample of 3005 mothers that matching inclusion and exclusion criteria. Analysis of this research data using complex samples analysis consisting of three stages: univariate, bivariate by using chi square test and multivariate using multiple logistic regression prediction model. Selection of helpers in non-health workers was found in 602 mothers (20%). The health insurance variable is the most dominant variable affecting the selection of helpers during childbirth after controlled by maternal education variables, maternal employment status, ANC examination, residence area and cost of delivery (PR= 5,806; 95% CI = 4,352-7,747). The conclusion is the dominant factor affecting the selection of childbirth helpers is the health insurance variable. Suggestion of governmental research and health care service institution to conduct a clearer socialization about health insurance to the wider community, so that people know that childbirth on healthcare facility is cheap and even free-of-charge.
