  • This classroom action research aims to improve students' learning outcomes through a model of problem based learning (PBL) learning in the basic chemistry class of FKIP Sriwijaya University. This study was conducted in two cycles, each cycle consisting of one meeting. Data obtained through observation sheets and test of learning outcomes conducted at the end of each cycle. There is an increase in learning outcomes and mastery of student learning outcomes. The result of learning and learning pre-action was 54,75 and 35%. KKM basic chemistry course is 71 and learning completeness 85%. Then the action on the first cycle increased to 68.61 and 70% complete learning, in the second cycle increased to 74.48 and learning completeness reached 85%. The level of student activeness in cycle I and phase II reach. the results showed that the model of learning Problem Based Learning can improve students' chemistry learning outcomes.
