  • PT. Pamapersada Nusantara is a mining contractor company that have contracts with PT. Bukit Asam (Persero), Tbk. In pit Tambang Air Laya there is a sump Situ Patenggang located at an elevation of -38,5 meters above sea level. Right under the sump there is a seam coal C with a thickness of ± 6 meters. The coating is economically feasible to mine, so it is planned to be carried draining sump. With the plan of draining the sump, it is necessary to review the pumps so that the drying process can work well and we can proceed to the mining process. Debit run off that goes into the sump Situ Patenggang amounted to 3.279,88 m3/hours, groundwater discharge of 85,8 m3/hours and evaporation rate of 25,7 m3/hours, so the total discharge of water that will enter in amounted to 3.339,98 m3/hours. Total volume of water entering the sump April-May period amounted to 958.781.2596 m3 plus target volume of water draining sump amounted to 2.869.860,7 m3 so that the total volume of water that must be pumped until the end of May 2015 amounted to 3.821.320,8 m3. Actual pumping systems in the sump Situ Patenggang pit Tambang Air Laya uses three Multiflo 420 EX pumps with maximum discharge 982,8 m3/hours, total head pumps 140,75 meters and efficiency 71%. While the operation hours for each pump is 21 hours/day. Based on the target draining sump until the end of May, the planned addition of a pump unit for the target volume pumping can be achieved within 47 days. Sump volume is required based on the total volume of incoming water per day at 23.576,6 m3, the dimension sump planned that resembles a trapezoidal shape with an inclination of 45 °, with the upper side measuring 74 m x 74 m while the lower side measuring 64 m x 64 m with a depth of sump 5 m.
