PENGARUH GARAM ASAM ORGANIK DARI SILASE KUMPAI TEMBAGA TERHADAP DAYA HAMBAT Escherichia coli DAN Salmonella typhimurium SECARA IN VITRO
Daftar Isi:
- Organic acids (lactate, acetate and butyrate) derived from kumpai tembaga silage can be used instead of antibiotics, because it has antibacterial properties by interfering with the normal physiology of some types of pathogenic bacteria in the poultry digestive tract, such as Escherichia coli and Salmonella typhimurium. The conversion of organic acids into organic acid salts was done to prevent evaporation and reduce the metabolism of organic acids before reaching the target organs (small intestine and cecum). The preparation of organic acid salts was done by mixing the organic acid liquid with a base (12.5%) to form crystals. This study was conducted to determine the effect of organic acid salts derived from kumpai tembaga silage to the pH value, organic acid salt and inhibitory power of Escherichia coli and Salmonella typhimurium in vitro. The design used was a complete randomized design consisting of 3 treatments and 4 replications. The treatment was by addition of base NaOH (P1), CaOH (P2) and ZnO (P3). The results showed that the treatment had significant effect on pH value, organic acid salt production, and Escherichia coli and Salmonella typhimurium inhibition zone. The use of ZnO bases at doses of 12.5% is the best organic acid salt in inhibiting the growth of Escherichia coli and Salmonella typhimurium bacteria, with zones of 0.385 cm and 0.213 cm.
