  • Stunting is a global nutritional problem. The prevalence of stunting among Indonesian toddlers in 2013 equal to 37,2%. The impacts of stunting were low endurance, lack of intellegence and productivity and also increased morbidity and mortality of children. There was a relationship between low birth weight (LBW) with growth and development of children which impact of growth faltering. The purpose of this study was to analyzed the influence of LBW history with the incidence of stunting among Indonesian children under three years old. For this study used cross sectional design. This study used data from the 2014 Indonesian Family Life Survey (IFLS). The population was household having children under three years old in IFLS survey and samples of this analysis were children under three years old with LBW history. The sample selection used multistage random sampling. Data were analyzed using complex sample. Bivariate analysis with chi-square test and multivariate with multiple logistic regression. The prevalence of stunting incidence among Indonesia toddlers (under three years old) was 31,7% which is divided into stunting and severe stunting. Bivariate analysis showed there was a relationship between LBW history with the incidence of stunting (p-value = <0,0001). Multivariate analysis showed adjusted ratio prevalence of infants with LBW history were 3,284 (95%CI 1,872-5,761). History of LBW has a great influence of stunting incidence among children under three years old in Indonesia after being controlled by exclusive breastfeeding, immunization status, premature history, mother’s height, father's height, maternal age, birth spacing, mother’s education, family size and the place of living .
