Pharmaceutical substances (Plant, animal, and inorganic)</subject><description>One of the potential Indonesian plants as antioxidant is mindi plants (Melia azedarach Linn.). The leaf part of the mindi plant contains flavonoids which have been proven in vitro to have strong antioxidant power IC50 DPPH of 58 &#x3BC;g / mL. This study was conducted to determine the antioxidant effect of mindi leaf&#x2019;s ethanolic extract by in vivo using TBARs method by measuring MDA levels of plasma of male white rats wistar strain induced by carbontetrachloride (CCl4), and also to determine the characterization of ethanol extract of mindi leaf as an antioxidant. This research used 30 rats divided into 6 groups namely normal control given 1% Na-CMC, positive control given vitamin C 100 mg / kgBB, negative controls were given 1% Na-CMC, and test groups D1, D2, and D3 (dose of 50 mg/ kgBB, 100 mg/ kgBB, and 200 mg/ kgBB) orally for 6 days, then on the 7th day the rats were induced with CCl4. The characterization ethanol extract of mindi leaves (Melia azedarach Linn.) fulfills the requirements of the Indonesian Ministry of Health (2008). The results of the study using the TBARs method showed that the three doses of extract had an effect as antioxidants because they could reduce the plasma MDA levels of rats to 1,123 &#xB1; 0,195 nmol / mL; 0.612 &#xB1; 0.263 nmol / mL; and 0.494 &#xB1; 0.161 nmol / mL and there were significant differences compared to the negative control group (p&lt;0.05). The ethanol extract of mindi leaves has an antioxidant effect with an optimum dose of 200 mg /kgBB because it has the potential as an antioxidant to reduce free radicals which is almost the same as vitamin C (0.396 &#xB1; 0.230 nmol / mL).&#xD; &#xD; Keyword: Mindi leaves (Melia azedarach Linn.), flavonoids, antioxidant, MDA level, CCl4</description><date>2019-07-19</date><type>Thesis:Thesis</type><type>PeerReview:NonPeerReviewed</type><type>Book:Book</type><language>ind</language><rights>cc_public_domain</rights><identifier>http://repository.unsri.ac.id/1381/1/RAMA_48201_08061181520009.pdf</identifier><type>Book:Book</type><language>ind</language><rights>cc_public_domain</rights><identifier>http://repository.unsri.ac.id/1381/2/RAMA_48201_08061181520009_TURNITIN.pdf</identifier><type>Book:Book</type><language>ind</language><rights>cc_public_domain</rights><identifier>http://repository.unsri.ac.id/1381/3/RAMA_48201_08061181520009_0003077102_0008038802_01_FRONT_REF.pdf</identifier><type>Book:Book</type><language>ind</language><rights>cc_public_domain</rights><identifier>http://repository.unsri.ac.id/1381/4/RAMA_48201_08061181520009_0003077102_0008038802_02.pdf</identifier><type>Book:Book</type><language>ind</language><rights>cc_public_domain</rights><identifier>http://repository.unsri.ac.id/1381/5/RAMA_48201_08061181520009_0003077102_0008038802_03.pdf</identifier><type>Book:Book</type><language>ind</language><rights>cc_public_domain</rights><identifier>http://repository.unsri.ac.id/1381/6/RAMA_48201_08061181520009_0003077102_0008038802_04.pdf</identifier><type>Book:Book</type><language>ind</language><rights>cc_public_domain</rights><identifier>http://repository.unsri.ac.id/1381/7/RAMA_48201_08061181520009_0003077102_0008038802_05.pdf</identifier><type>Book:Book</type><language>ind</language><rights>cc_public_domain</rights><identifier>http://repository.unsri.ac.id/1381/8/RAMA_48201_08061181520009_0003077102_0008038802_06_REF.pdf</identifier><type>Book:Book</type><language>ind</language><rights>cc_public_domain</rights><identifier>http://repository.unsri.ac.id/1381/9/RAMA_48201_08061181520009_0003077102_0008038802_07_LAMP.pdf</identifier><identifier> OCTAVIANI, REZA AMELIA and Herlina, Herlina and Solihah, Indah (2019) POTENSI EKSTRAK ETANOL DAUN MINDI (Melia azedarach Linn.)SEBAGAI ANTIOKSIDAN TERHADAP PEROKSIDA LIPID PADA TIKUS PITIH JANTAN GALUR WISTAR.
