  • Swamp lands generally have low water pH ranging from 3-4. This is become a constraint in rearing catfish that require a water pH of 6.5-8.5. One of strategies for increasing low pH of swamp water is by liming. Alternative materials potential to be limestone is golden apple snail shells that contain CaO (91.62%) and MgO (1.66%). This study aims to determine the best dosage of lime derived from golden apple snail shells toincrease the pH of water and soil swamp, as well as its effect on the survival rate and growth of catfish fingerlings. This study used Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 5 treatments and 3 replications. The treatments is the difference of dosage of lime derived from golden snail apple shells, namely (P1 4,000; P2 5,000; P3 6,000, P4 7,000) kg/ha equivalent CaO and calcitic limestone (CaCO3) P5 6,000 kg/ha equivalent CaO. The result showed that P4 was the best treatment to increase pH of swamp water from 3.61 to 7.63, pH of soil from 3.66 to 8.07, survival rate 100%, absolute growth of weight 11.43 g and length 6.66 cm and feed efficiency 101.66%
