The research instrument used to analyse questionnaires directly to students and communication science students in 2017 is 70 people . using analysus data , bye giving values for the answers selected using a likert scale . after searching for the average value of the total score obtained . this study got the results that the role of instagram as a media for self-creation of students (university of sriwijaya) through the dimensions of social media as window on the ebvent and experience wat at score of 284.2 which was very good, based on media dimension is considered as a mirror of events in the community and the word is at a score of 271.5 which is declared good , based on the dimensions of the media as a filter , or gatekeeper on a score of 281 is very good , based on the dimensions of the media as guide is on score of 281 is very good , based on the dimensions of media as a guide is on score 289 is very good, according to media demensions social asa forum to present a variety of information and ideas to score on 302 pages that are very good and based on media dimensions as interlocutor is on a score of 317 it is very well published, from all parameters thus , it is concluded that instagram’s role as student’s self-creation media (study on 2017 force communication students faculty of social and political sciences , sriwijaya university ) , vert role.
