This thesis aims to determine the effectiveness of the mass media (Indonesian Horor Movie) according to Bachelor Degree Students of Sriwijaya University Fakulty of Sosial sience and Political science in Palembang. This reaserch desriptive uses approach quantitative method to describe the effectiveness of mass media acccording to students of Sriwijaya University Fakulty of Sosial science and Political science in Palembang. The data obtained from various sources is distributing questionnaires. documentation, observation. and structured interviews to Bechelor Degree Students Sriwijaya University Fakulty of Social science and Political in Palembang. The concept the used in this research 1s effectiveness concept of mass media from Charles Robert Wright that is surveillance, correlation, cultural transmition. and entertainment. The results of data analysis show the effectiveness of mass media (Indonesian Horor Movie) according to Bechelor Degree Students of Sriwijaya University Fakulty Social science and Political science in palembang is quite good. In terms of correlation and entertainment Indonesian horor movie it has less impact for Bechelor Degree Students Fakulty of Social science and Political science. But in terms of surveillance and cultural transmition, student consider the mass media is quite efective.
