  • Toddlers are vulnerable groups that experience nutritional problems. This can cause growth and developmentof both physical and psychomotor to be hampered, and also can cause brain cell deficiency by 15% to 20%. Underweight is stated as the cause of death of 3,5 million toddlers in the world. The prevalence of toddlers with underweight status in 2016 increased by 0,19% (PSG South Sumatra, 2016). Lubuklinggau is one of the cities located in South Sumatra, where the prevalence of toddlers with underweight status has increased every year by an average of 0,5% and the biggest increase (1,38%) occurred in 2017. The highest number of underweight cases in Lubuklinggau City is in the Citra Medika Health Center. This study analyze the determinants of underweight status of toddlers aged 6-59 months occured in the area of Citra Medika Lubuklinggau Public Health Center in 2018 using a Cross Sectional Design.There are 7 independent variables grouped into 2 aspects The sample of the study was 70 mothers who had children aged 6-59 months, using the Simple Random Sampling technique. The results of univariate analysis shows the prevalence of underweight among toddlers aged 6- 59 months in Citra Medika Puskesmas working area is 28,6%.The results of bivariate analysis (Chi-square test) shows that there are 2 of 7 independent variables that have a relationship with underweight status in toddlers aged 6-59 months, including family income (pvalue = 0,036) and feeding pattern (p value = 0,025). From the results of the study, it is expected that mothers who have toddlers to pay more attention to children's food intake.
