PENGARUH KALSIUM KARBONAT DARI SERBUK CANGKANG Anadara granosa TERHADAP KEKERASAN PERMUKAAN RESIN AKRILIK HEAT CURED
Daftar Isi:
- The smoothness of acrylic resin surface plays an important role in producing denture base. The im of this study was to evaluate the effect of calcium carbonate from cockle shells (Anadara granosa) powder on the surface roughness of heat cured acrylic resins. Thirty heat cured acrylic resins specimens (30 x 15 x 3 mm) were made and classified into three groups : group 1 as control group (unpolished), group 2 (being polished with cockle shells calcium carbonate), and group 3 (being polished with commercial calcium carbonate). Calcium carbonate particle were characterized using X-Ray Diffraction (XRD). Surface roughness of specimens was measured using profilometer. The surface roughness (Ra) of acrylic resin specimens was analyzed using Kruskall-Wallis test and post hoc Mann-Whitney. The result showed that polishing affected surface roughness significantly (p<0.05). On the control group showed significant difference with group 2 and group 3 (p>0.05), whereas on the group 2 and group 3 showed there was no significant difference. It is conclude that polishing with cockle shells calcium carbonate can decrease the surface roughness of heat cured acrylic resins.
