  • This thesis is based on the awards obtained by news broadcasting program with TVRI rating is still low. This study aims to determine the strategics used by news programs warta SumSel TYRI south sumatra. This thesis sees broadbrand strategy program theory from Head Stearling namely; head to head, counter program, powerful introduction, crib strategy and obstacles. The type of this research is descriptive using qualitative approach method. From the interview data, observation.and documents can be analyzed and obtained the result of the six aspects of the theory disclosed by hew.I sterling, news program news SumSel use only three aspects of head to bead by featuring the same program with rival TV, counter program by adding new segments to provide different impressions, and powerful introductions feature a not blocking program because they are research here in only one broadcast program news programs to view more than one eye event, strategy cradle in the absence of a decline in popularity un the news program and the welfare of news and hindering in the absence of a change of schedule fast event.
