PERBEDAAN RASIO UKURAN MESIO DISTAL GIGI MENGGUNAKAN ANALISIS BOLTON PADA PASIEN TALASEMIA β MAYOR DAN NON-TALASEMIA
Daftar Isi:
- Thalassemia β mayor is an autosomal recessive gene disorder caused by mutation of both genes which produce β-globin chains. Thalassemia β major owns dentofacial abnormalities so orthodontic treatment is needeed to improve both mastication and aesthetic function. Orthodontic treatment requires an analysis that helps determine the next treatment plan such as Bolton's analysis. This study is an analytic study with case control approach. The sampling used is purposive sample technique. The number of samples was 26 people (13 thalassemia β major routine blood transfusion and 13 non thalassemia), aged 17-25 years and had complete teeth from right first molar to the left of upper and lower jaw. Mesiodistal measurements were performed on dental model of subjects using sliding calipers, then calculating the overall ratio and anterior ratios based on Bolton analysis. Data were analyzed using independent sample T-test. The results showed that at thalassemia β major, the overall ratio is 91.68 and the anterior ratios of 78.40 while at non thalassemia overall ratio is 92.07 and anterior ratio is 77.82. So it can be concluded that there is no significant difference of overall ratio and anterior ratios between thalassemia patients β major and non thalassemia and there is no significant difference of overall ratio and anterior ratios of both study groups when compared with the ideal value of bolton.
