  • The Purpose of this research was to improve the students skills of writing essay description of third graders in Junior High School 224 In Palembang using image series media. The research using classroom action research method which three action cycles, method of classroom action research was consisted of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Technique of Data Collection used performance test and observation. The result of research indicated that the valued of writing essay description by student have been increased. It was base on completeness of student learning in first cycle about 51,4 % with an averaged score of 68.4. In the second cycles of mastery from student learning increased up to 71,4 % with an averaged values of 72, and the third cycles about completeness of student learning have been increased to 85.7 % with an averaged score 77.3. The conclusion through using of image series media can improving the skills of writing essay description of student in the third grades of Junior High School 224 In Palembang.
