  • The use of a sieving machine with an electric motor driving force can facilitate the process of sifting the soil with a faster time. This study aimed to determine the performance of soil sieving machines by considering different types of soil. This research was conducted from February until May 2018 at the Department of Agricultural Technology workshop, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University, Indralaya. The research used an experimental method consisted of two treatments i,e the load material (10 kg, and 15 kg) and the soil type (ultisol, histosol, alluvial) with 3 replications. Parameters observed included water content, electric motor power, efficiency of the electric motor, and separation capacity. The results showed that based on the performance test of the separation capacity of soil sieving equipment was 0,7-0,21 kg / minute, the amount of material lost at sieving was 0,08-0,65 kg. Type of soil and the weight of the load affected the power utilization, the highest power was in the treatment of 15 kg histosol soil which was 206,97 watt and 83,13%, while the lowest efficiency was in the treatment of 10 kg alluvial soil which was 193,93 watt and 29,13%.
