  • The addition of rice bran on corn straw silage is a solution for fulfill the amount of cattle forage in order to increase cattle productivity. The aim of this research to study the coefficient of organic matter digestibility, n-ammonia concentration and concentration of short chain fatty acid (SCFA) in vitro on corn straw silage with addition of rice bran. This research was conducted from October to November 2017 at Field Laboratory of Animal Science Department Faculty of Agriculture Sriwijaya University, Feeding Nutrition Laboratory of Animal Science Department Faculty of Agriculture Sriwijaya University and Ciawi Bogor Livestock Research Center. The method that used in this research was an independent t-student consist of 2 treatments and 5 replications. The treatment were corn straw silage and corn straw silage with addition of rice bran. The observed variables were coefficient of organic matter digestibility, concentration of n-ammonia and total SCFA concentration. The results showed that corn straw silage with addition of rice bran ware significantly affects (P<0,05) with coefficient of organic matter digestibility 4,14%, n-ammonia concentration 0,43 mM, and total short chain fatty acid 25,61 mM compared with control treatments.
