PERILAKU IBU DALAM PEMBERIAN ASI EKSKUSIF DI WILAYAH KERJA PUSKESMAS KUTARAYA OKI TAHUN 2017

- Based on data of Ogan Komering Ilir District Health in 2017, the achievement of a baby who were given exclusive breastfeeding still wasn’t yet reach the national target 80% at Public Health Care Kutaraya and having decreased 13.3% in 2014, 17.0% in 2015. This research was aimed to know the behavior of mother in the exclusive breastfeeding at work area public health center Kutaraya. The design of this research was qualitative research used in-depth interview method, observation and document review. Total informants were 25 people, consists of 12 mothers who have 6-12 month old baby, head of Public Health Care, 3 midwives, 6 posyandu fellow, PP ASI, 2 head of institution. Analysis and collection of data was done at same time (ongoing analysis). The results showed that the mother of toddler knows what is the concept of exclusive breastfeeding and procedures of breastfeeding and benefit of breastfeeding, thus raising a good perception. This very exclusive action is closely linked to the role of health workers, parents, and families in support of exclusive breastfeeding. However, exclusively breastfed non-breastfeeding mothers have a tendency to produce a little milk, and there is no lactation space, thus causing milk formula to children. Besides the presence of ceremonies in the premises of MP-ASI such as zam-zam air, coffee, kapok banana, porridge, rice given sugar, and honey, this is because there is no socialization/counseling, lack of educational tools, and counseling. Maternal behavior in exclusive breastfeeding is good, because have good knowledge. To optimize counseling, lactation space and exclusive breastfeeding education in the community, it needs to be supported to apply.
