- This thesis entitled The Role of Public Relations of South Sumatera Provincial Government in Successful of Asian Games 2018. Asian Games is the biggest sport event in Asia which has been held from 1951 in New Delhi, India. In the year 2018, Indonesia entered as host of the Asian Games. In the city of Palembang, there will be 11 sports that will be contested. To succeed this big event, the responsibility is the same for all groups, one of them is public relations. Public Relations (public relations) is a management function that builds and maintains good relationships and benefits the organization. Public Relations has a function as a transmitter of information or means from the government to the public in order to achieve matters relating to regulations or government activities which in this case is the Asian Games. This study was analyzed using the role theory of public relations according to Dozier and Broom. The results show that the role of Public Relations of South Sumatra Provincial Government in the success of the 2018 Asian Games is already running well.
