EVALUASI LAHAN PASANG SURUT UNTUK TANAMAN KELAPA SAWIT DI DESA SUKATANI KECAMATAN TANJUNG LAGO KABUPATEN BANYUASIN
Daftar Isi:
- Tidal land is a strategic choice as an agricultural production area. Sukatani Village Tanjung Lago Subdistrict Banyuasin Delta Telang II is a reclamation area planted with rice, maize, coconut, rubber and oil palm. This study aims to evaluate tidal land based on soil physical and chemical properties and assess its land suitability class in oil palm plantation development. This research was conducted in December 2017 until April 2018 in Sukatani village, Tanjung Lago District, Banyuasin District with intensive survey method using 1:3 scale map in 4 hectares area with 8 observation points. Characteristics of observed soil include drainage, effective depth of rooting, pyrite state, soil color, nutrients N, P, K and acid soil and CEC. The results showed that actual land suitability for oil palm plantations at the research sites in T3, T4, T5, T6, T8 indicated the suitability class of S3-fn land (less suitable for soil pH and nutrient factors (P and K) and T1, T2 , T7 Nn (not suitable for nutrient K factor), tidal land potential to be developed for oil palm crops to overcome limiting factors including pH and nutrients P and K as well as channel improvement. There should be further research by conducting an evaluation of oil palm land in tidal land in different types of floods,
