- The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between perceptions of crowding and stress on inmates in prison Class IIB Muara Enim The hypothesis of this study there is a relationship between perceptions of crowding and stress on inmates in prison Class IIB Muara Enim The study population is 220 the prisoner in Muara Enim Class IIB Correctional Institution. Sample of this research is 135 prisoners in Muara Enim Class IIB used technique probability sampling. Perceptions of crowding and stress are measured by referring to aspects of perception according to Walgito (2010) associated with crowding aspects according to Gifford (2014) and stress symptoms according to Hariharan and Rath (2008) The result of the study were analyzed using correlation pearson product moment. The result of the hypothesis show that the r value is 0,279 (p> 0,05). The result of the hypothesis is accepted and the results of this study indicate that there is a positive relationship between perceptions of crowding and stress on inmates in prison Class IIB Muara Enim.
