  • The metyl tertiary butyl ether manufacturing plant with a production capacity of 125,000 tons / year is planned to be established in 2024 in Palembang, South Sumatra, which is estimated to have an area of 5.5 hectares. The raw material for making methyl tertiary butyl ether is methanol and isobutylene. The process of making methyl tertiary butyl ether refers to EP Patent 3 395 792 A1 by reacting isobutylene and methanol to form methyl tertiary butyl ether products. The first, second and third reactors are fixed bed reactor types using Amberlyst-15 catalyst. The first reactor operates at 65oC and 4 atm, while the second reactor operates at 50oC and 4 atm, and the third reactor operates at 35oC and 4 atm. This factory will be established by adopting a limited liability company (PT) with the Line and Staff organization system, which is led by a Director with a total of 171 employees.
