  • The purposes of this research were to (1) Describe the factors affecting the transition of chilli farming from rainy season to dry season on rainfed land at sukapulih village. (2) Comparing the productivity and farmer income of chilli farming in dry season and rainy season at Sukapulih Village. This research was conducted in Sukapulih Village, Pedamaran Sub-district Ogan Komering Ilir Regency. Data were collected in March until April 2018. The methods used in the implementation of this researchis survey method. The sampling method used was Simple Random Sampling. The data used were primary and secondary data. The result indicated that the affecting the transition of chilli farming from rainy season to dry season on rainfed land is more suitable land suitability, lower pest and disease attacks, more suitable rainfall, higher productivity, lower production cost, and availability of sufficient water. There was difference of productivity within dry season and rainy season. Chilli productivity in dry season was 7.145,56 kg/ha/dry season higher than rainy season was 3.788,89 kg/ha/rainy season, the percentage difference was 30,6 percent. And there was difference of farmer income within dry season and rainy season. Farmer income in dry season was 75,8 percent/ha/dry season higher than rainy season was 24,2 pecent/ha/rainy season, the percentage difference was 51,6 percent .
