  • Background: Diaper rash and urinary tract infection ( UTI ) is one of illness who was often experienced by infants and children of a result of the use of diaper that is often replaced .Diaper rash may be due to the too the length of the skin come into contact with the urine which is with diaper long enough . UTI occurred because of an bacteria uropatogenik who moved into the ureter until to the kidney a result of moist perineal regions. Methods: This study is an observational analysis with cross-sectional designed was used in this study. The samples were 100 mothers with inclusion criteria, who took their 0-5 year-old in opi mall, TVRI park, KI park . Result: Mothers with high had incomeof month and very high & high levels of education use the most diapers for babies and their children. Practical and efficient is also the reason most mothers choose diapers. Children aged 0-3 years and female sex use the most diapers. Most mothers replace diaper children <4 times a day or rarely change diapers. In children using diapers, 54% were affected by the rash, 14% experienced pain when straining when urinate and 1% experienced a change in color when urinate. The duration of diaper replacement in most children more than 4 hours has just been replaced, it can further increase the risk of developing diaper rash and chronic symptoms Conclusion: Diapers that are used for a long time or are rarely replaced can cause diaper rash and trigger symptoms of UTI on babies and children.
