FAKTOR PERSONAL YANG BERHUBUNGAN DENGAN PERILAKU MEROKOK REMAJA LAKI-LAKI DI SMK YWKA KOTA PALEMBANG TAHUN 2018

- Background: Smoking is estimated to kill5 million people annually as active users and ex-smokers kill 600,000 people as passive smokers. Cigarette smoke contained more than 4000 toxic chemicals and more than 40 kinds of carcinogens which are at risk for cancer. The aims of this study to determine the personal factors and role model factors related with smoking behavior in YWKA Vocational School at Palembang City. Model:This study used a quantitative method with cross sectional design. The population of this research were teenagers of YWKA vocational school at Palembang City with a sample of 92 respondents selected by using simple random sampling. The data collection was done through interview method by using questionnaire. The data analysis technique with multiple logistic regression test. Result: Statistics test showed that the variables associated with the smoking behavior was knowledge, perceived barriers, parents influenced, and peer influenced. While the variable that was not associated was personality, perceived suspectibility, perceived severity, perceived benefits and influenced relation. The result multivariate analysis showed that the variable that most influence on smoking behavior was peer influenced. Conclusion: The study concluded knowledge, perceived barriers, parents influenced, and peer influenced are risk factors of smoking behavior for male teenagers in Palembang city. Family attention is more important thing to reduce smoking behavior especially among teenagers.
