  • The use of a sterilizer in the processing of palm oil produces noise, long exposure time for 8 hours and 10 years work period, that students get information that workers experience buzzing ear complaints and decreased hearing ability. The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship between noise intensity and hearing loss in workers in the sterillizer production area. This study uses a cross sectional study design. The data used is the data of PT. Gersindo Minang West Pasaman plantiton and audiometry test results. Samples obtained by 40 respondents with total sampling technique. Data analysis was performed, namely univariate and bivariate analysis using the chi square test and simple logistic regression. The results showed that the proportion of hearing loss workers at PT. Gersindo Minang West Pasaman plantiton by 25%. Bivariate results show that there is a relationship between work period (p-value = 0.026), length of exposure (p-value = 0.028). Therefore it is concluded that hearing loss is influenced by years of service and duration of exposure. Suggestions from this study should the company conduct regular ear or audiometry examinations to workers so that the company can find out workers who have hearing loss and can be made efforts to prevent and overcome these problems
