- This study aims to 1) analyze the relationship of rubber farmers 'income to socio-economic behavior of rubber farmers during carrer price fluctuations in Purwosari Village, Lais District, Musi Banyuasin Regency, 2) To describe the economic condition of rubber farmers' households in Surplus and deficit in Purwosari Village, Lais District Musi Banyuasin. This research was conducted in Purwosari Village, Lais District, Musi Banyuasin Regency. Determination of the location of this study was done intentionally (purposive). Field data collection was conducted in February 2018. The method used in this research is survey method. The data obtained consist of primary data and secondary data. The results of this study indicate that there is no correlation between the income of rubber farming when the rubber price rises to the socio-economic behavior of the agricultural household while, when the price of rubber decreases indicates that there is a correlation between the income of smallholder rubber farmers toward the socio-economic behavior of farm households in Purwosari Village Lais District Regency of Musi Banyuasin. The economic condition of farm households consists of income and household consumption expenditure of rubber farmers. At the time of rubber prices rose farmer income of IDR 8,404,274.64 higher than the income received by farmers when the price of rubber fell by IDR 6,556,003.81. Then for farmers expenditure at the time of rubber price rose by IDR 8,079,833.00 but, when the price of rubber decreased the income of farmers also decreased accompanied by decrease in expenditure amounting to IDR 6,483,200.00.
