  • Maternal anemia is a problem society in Indonesia and in the World. Anemia is a condition where red blood cell period or hemoglobin less than normal limits. Given the impact of anemia can reduce the quality of Human Resources (HR) in Indonesia, it is necessary to prevent anemia. One thing can be done to prevent the incidence of anemia review pregnancy with provide health education Pop up Book and lecture Method. This researh was an analytical observational study with quasi-experimet design with non equivalent control group design. This study uses interventional procesures and performed pretest and posttest to get scores of the respondent’ knowledge. The samples were pregnant women at the region work of Puskesmas Simpang Kawat Jambi City totaling 38 people. Samples were taken by purposive sampling. The resuls data were obtained by using questionnaires knowledge about maternal anemia when pretest and posstest. The results showed that the average respondents knowledge in the experimental group before being given intervention 13,26 and 25,36 after intervention with p=0,000. While the average of respondents knowledge in the control group before 15,10 and 20,05 after intervention with p= 0,000. The difference in the average change of respondents in the experimental group was higher than in the control group with P = 0,000. so it can be concluded that there is a difference in the average knowledge score of respondents who received health education with the media pop up book with respondents who received health education by lecturing method with a difference of 5.32 points.Intervention is needed to review the lay with media to improve maternal anemia knowledge about anemia that can be pressed incidence rate of anemia in Pregnancy.
