- This study aims to determine how the village government Efforts of Village goverment in motivating the society to participate on development in village Suka Damai Baru subdistrick Sungai Lilin districk Musi Banyuasin. This research uses descriptive method with qualitative approach. Informants in this study as many as six people obtained by using purposive sampling technique. Data collection techniques with documentation, interviews, and observation. Test data validity with credibility test, transferability test, dependability test, and confirmability test. Data analysis techniques use data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions. Based on the results of data analysis and discussion, it is known that the village government's efforts in motivating the community to participate in the development in Suka Damai Baru Village, Sungail Lilin District, Musi Banyuasin Regency is the first by giving respect to the community, secondly by providing information, the third is by command and the fourth by way of punishment.
