PERILAKU KONSUMSI BERAS ORGANIK PADA TINGKAT RUMAH TANGGA DARI GERAI PASAR TANI KECAMATAN ILIR TIMUR I KOTA PALEMBANG

- The purpose of this research were to : (1) Identify the characteristics of household which consume organic rice of Farmer’s Market Outlet Ilir Timur I Subdistrict Palembang City, (2) Examine household behavior on consuming organic rice of Farmer’s Market Outlet Ilir Timur I Subdistrict Palembang City, (3) Analyze the relationship between the number of family members and the level of education along with the household behavior on consuming organic rice. The research has been conducted on September until December 2017 in Palembang city which exactly is in Farmer’s Market Outlet, because it consists of organic rice sellers who buy the organic rice directly from the farmer so that the price offered is cheaper. The research method used is survey, while the sampling method used is accidental. The data collected in the research consists of primary and secondary data. The results of this research show that (1) The characteristics household which consume organic rice of Farmer’s Market Outlet Ilir Timur I Subdistrict Palembang City is having an average respondent aged 42 years, the number of respondent's family members evenly is 4 persons, respondent’s education level is Bachelor, the head of household’s type of job is dominated by civil servants, the average respondent’s income level is Rp. 3.000.000 – 5.000.000 per month, the reason why the respondent consumes on the average of organic rice is due to health reasons and the respondent’s health benefit perception are in the “agree” category with the score of 11.19 from all indicators (2) Household behavior on consuming organic rice of Farmer’s Market Outlet Ilir Timur I Subdistrict Palembang City is shown by the purchase of organic rice frequency which is dominated by doing it two times a month, on average of 12.83 kg per month and the organic rice consumption is dominated by three times a day (3) There is no significant relationship between the number of family members and the level of education along with household behavior on consuming organic rice.
