  • The objective of this research was to study the cultivation performance using conventional and transplanter systems related on the yield, cost operation and field capacity. This research has been conducted from July to December 2017 in Technical Implementation of Seed Production of Food Crop and Holticulture, Musi Rawas District, South Sumatera Province. This research was carried out by using descriptive method data analyzing starting with machine testing, observation and presented in forms of tabulations and graphs. The results of this study indicated that planting using a transplanter was much more effective compare with conventional system. The planting of rice seeds using a transplanter machine (0.24 ha/h) was much more effective than using conventional systems (0.045 hours/ha or 0.00917 ha/hours/person). The cost of planting using a transplanter machine was to Rp 155,834/ha, this value was much lower when compared to the cost of planting using conventional system of Rp 817,500/ha.
