  • Petai peel (Parkia speciosa Hassk) is one of the plants that has hypoglycemia and antiocsidant activity. Drugs plant that already known the activity must be through a test of toxic to determine the level of use that is safe , one of which is a test of acute toxic. In this study an acute toxic test for peel ethanol extract was conducted against female white rat of wistar strain with Acute Toxic Class (ATC). In this method, a preliminary test is carried out to obtain the initial dose used in the main test. From the preliminary test conducted, a dose of 10.000 mg / kg BB was obtained as the initial dose for the main test. The test used in the main test were 6 white Wistar female rats, were divided into 2 groups 3 rats for the normal control group and 3 rats for the treatment group at a dose of 10.000 mg / kg BB. The results showed death and toxic symptoms such as weakness in all treatment groups. Based on the average data before and after giving of the extract, rats weight was significantly decreased (p<0,05). Inbiochemical parameters happened different significance at the level of the SGOT, SGPT, creatinin, and ureum. The average level of biochemical parameters of the normal group SGOT 117,886±11,045 U/L, SGPT 105,94±6,080 U/L, creatinine 0,738±0,093 mg/dL, ureum 18,99±1,699 mg/dL. While treatment groups that SGOT 245,434±26,346 U/L, SGPT 138,30±4,804 U/L, creatinine 1,243±0,126mg/dL, and ureum 29,49 ±1.032 mg/dL. Based on the results of the surgery occurs a difference in the color of liver control treatment dose of 10.000 mg/kgBB.
