  • This study examines the “reciprocity and social reditribution between female workers peeling shrimp skin in the village of craftsmen who are skilled in Banyuasin 1 Banyuasin District”. The purpose of this study was to understand and describe the reciprocity and social redistribution between female workers who shelled shrimp. The method used by this research is descriptive qualitative research method, while the number of informats in this study were 10 informants. Data collection techniques are carried out by interview, observation and documentation. This study uses the theory of reciprocity from Sahlins and the redistribution theory from polanyi. The results of the study found that reciprocity among female workers who shelled shrimp included a from of general reciprocity relationship, namely mutual donations voluntarily, lending money to each other and sharing provisions then comparable reciprocity, namely helping in celebration of redistibution including transactional redistibution, mutual helping of peers shrimp and redistribution, mutual helping of peers shrimp and mutual cooperatioan in cleanliness. Social resillience and redistibution can not be separated from the process between female laborers who peel shrimp skin starting from the social scope, trust and exchange
