  • The spread of HIV/ AIDS caused by one of them is risky sexual behavior (unsafe) to injecting drug users. Sexual behavior can be influenced by the level of knowledge related to HIV / AIDS which is one of the factors of high incidence of HIV / AIDS in IDU. This study aims to determine the relationship between the level of knowledge of HIV / AIDS with sexual behavior. This study is a type of quantitative research usingstudy design Cross-Sectional with a sample of 1,009 people. Univariate analysis, bivariate analysis usingtest chi square and multivariate analysis using logistic regression test of risk factor model. The results showed that there were 375 people (37.2%) who engage in risky sexual behavior. The result of bivariate analysis shows that (p-value 0,042), information exposure (p-value <0.001), availability of condoms (p-value 0.008) with sexual behavior, and a significant relationship between the level of knowledge of HIV / AIDS (p-value 0.003), access to the LASS program there is no relationship between sex, marital status, education level, age of first use of injecting drug, residence, work income with sexual behavior. The multivariate analysis showed that there was a significant correlation between HIV/ AIDS knowledge level and sexual behavior controlled by exposure variable with P-value 0,030 (PR 1,338; 95% CI 1.028-1,740). Conclusions: There was a significant relationship between HIV/ AIDS knowledge level and sexual behavior controlled by exposure variable. In this study it is suggested to improve access and quality of health services at public hospitals in each city in Indonesia to provide consultation of HIV/ AIDS injecting drug users (IDUs) and risky sexual behaviors.
