- Abstract This study aimed to know land suitability for soybean crops in some region of Sea and Warembungan Village, Pineleng District of North Sulawesi which is categorized into land suitability classes. This research can provide input and information to the government and the people of the Pineleng District of North Sulawesi about land suitability and the limiting factors for growing soybean plants. This research were held for 6 (six) months, commencing from February to August 2018, by using Land Survey Unit Approach. In this research, the land units were obtained from the overlapping between the land use map and slope map. Land Characteristic data obtained from observation and laboratory analysis.Data collection techniques include document, observation and laboratory analysis. Data analysis techniques to determine the land suitability class by using geographic information systems, ArcGIS 10.3 Software to obtain soybean crops suitability map of soybean in some region of Sea and Warembungan Village Pineleng District. The result showed that in the research area of 584,61 Ha has six land units. The land units have potential areas for development of soybean plants. Actually, this location was categorized into suitability classes N (not appropriate) with the limiting factors are rainfall, erosion hazard and effective depth. But, potentially, this location was categorized into suitability classes S3 (marginally suitable) if improvements are made such as drainage channel, making terrace and planting land cover crops.
