Algae biomass characterized using the photometer and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) were presented in the data set. Oil from the algae was extracted using the Chemical method Extraction (N-hexane) with Soxhlet extractor unit. The optimization parameter performed was: solid&#x2013;solvent ratio, moisture content, rate of drying algae paste, effect of time and temperature. The data set shows maximum oil yield of 31.50 % obtained with optimum condition of 6.6 % moisture content for a particle size of 2 to 3.30 mm, 60 0C temperatures solid to solvent ratio of 1:6 and 70 mins extraction time. The Kinetics reveals that this extraction followed first order model equation for the reaction time on oil yield with activation energy (Ea.) of 141.92KJ/mol. </description><subject>Environmental Science</subject><contributor>Agbede, Oluseye</contributor><type>Other:Dataset</type><identifier>10.17632/c6y2vfsgvk.1</identifier><rights>Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International</rights><rights>http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0</rights><relation>https:/data.mendeley.com/datasets/c6y2vfsgvk</relation><date>2018-08-27T14:53:01Z</date><recordID>0.17632-c6y2vfsgvk.1</recordID></dc>
