- This data set comes from purse information provided by the Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) and the California State Athletic Commission (CSAC). The NSAC provided purse information on professional boxing matches in that state from 2009 to 2017. The CSAC provided purse information for the period June 2012 to December 2015 and its website provided purse information for 12 additional boxing cards held between 2016 and 2017, which are also included in the data set. After excluding female boxers and a few other minor exclusions, the result is an unbalanced panel of 1,212 boxers observed an average of 3.85 fights.
