- The research was done to explain the contribution of split information towards listening. There are two variables in this research. The first is variable X ( split information activity) and the second is listening comprehension. The subject of the research was second years students of Private Islamic school of YLPI Pekanbaru. And the object of the research was listening comprehension of second years students of Private Islamic school of YLPI Pekanbaru. The research was conducted from October to November 2013. The purpose of the research was to know how much the contribution of split information activity towards listening comprehension of second year students at Private Islamic Junior High School YLPI Pekanbaru. In data analysis, the researcher use regresi linears formula to find the conribution of split information activity towards listening comprehension. The research instrument were : questionnaire for split information acvtivity and test for listening comprehension. The researcher use SPSS 16 to analyze the data. The researcher find that standard deviation for listening comprehension is 56.47 and 50.63 for split information activity. In this research, there is a contribution of split information activity toward listening comprehension, it is 68.8 % and 31.2 % influenced by other factors. It means that the alternative hypothesis was accepted and null hypothesis was rejected.
