  • ABSTRACT Fernanda Yuriansyah (2020): Exploring Teacher Motivation in Teaching English: Case Study of Experienced English Teacher at Senior High School 1 Bangkinang This study explores the motivation of English teacher in teaching English based on the concept of Ofoegbu (2004). In which Teacher motivation is related to the feeling of happy, satisfied, dedicated, and committed. This research is qualitative research with case study design. The data were obtained from questionnaires that was given to English teacher as participant and followed by semi-structured interviews. Students from different classes at Senior High School 1 Bangkinang Kota also involved in interview to support the data obtained from the teacher. Then the data were analyzed with thematic analysis. The findings showed that the experienced English teacher at Senior High School 1 Bangkinang Kota had high motivation in teaching English. There are intrinsic motivation and extrinsic motivation, from the intrinsic included spontaneous behavior, cognitive social and professional development, enjoyment of the activity, opportunities or professional development, support from school, involvement of the school. And extrinsic motivation included, introjection, identification, integrated, salary and benefits, collaboration with colleagues, student commitment.
