  • The main objective of the study was to find out a comparison between the effect of usingTSTS strategy and DRA Strategy on students’ reading comprehension at the Vocational High School Pharmacy Ikasari Pekanbaru. The study used a quasiexperimental approach of nonequivalent (pre-test and post-test ). The participants of thestudy comprised 79 students of Vocational High School Pharmacy Ikasari Pekanbaru. The TSTSstrategy was used in the experimental group 1(n=39); DRA Strategy was used in the experimental group 2 (n= 40). The data werecollected using a pre-test and a post-test. Quantitative data wereanalyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics.The findings showed a significant difference of students’ reading comprehension between the experimental group 1 through TSTSstrategy (M=86.61 and SD=4.35) and t h e experimental group 2through DRAstrategy (M=80.40 and SD=9.75), in which, index t=-3.68 with p=0,000<0.05. Thus, the TSTS strategy was more effective than the DRA strategy to the students’ reading comprehension mastery at the Vocational High School Pharmacy Ikasari Pekanbaru in academic year 2016-2017.
