  • ABSTRACT HIDRAL AZHARI (2019) : An Analysis of Students’ Anxiety in Speaking Class Performance at Eighth Grade of State Junior High School 4 Pekanbaru . This research was investigated students’ anxiety in speaking class performance at eighth grade of State Junior High School 4 Pekanbaru. There was one variable used in this research (students’ anxiety in speaking class performance). The subject of the research was the eighth grade of State Junior High School 4 Pekanbaru and the objective of this research was to find out how is the students’ anxiety in speaking class performance. This research was quantitative research. The population of this research was 297 students at eighth grade of State Junior High School 4 Pekanbaru. The writer used cluster random sampling technique because the number of the population was too large, then the writer choose class VIII.3 as the sample of this research. To obtain the data, the writer used questionnaire that was adapted from the expert to measure the students’ anxiety in speaking class performance. The result of this research showed there were 80% of the 33 students of class VIII.3 experienced the anxiety in speaking class performance where distributed into three type of speaking performance anxiety which were 29% for Communicative Apprehension, 37% Test Anxiety, and 34% for Fear of Negative Evaluation.
