- ABSTRACT SRI WULANDARI (2019): The Correlation between Students’ Self-Efficacy and Their Writing Ability at State Vocational High School 1 Tandun. The purpose of this study is to find out the correlation between students’ self-efficacy and their writing ability at state vocational high school 1 Tandun. This research is a correlation research. The population of research was all the tenth grade students of State Vocational High School 1 Tandun with total 196 students and the sample were 49 students taken using simple random sampling. In collected the data, the researcher used two techniques that are questionnaire was used to measure students’ self-efficacy and test was used to determine their ability in writing descriptive text. The researcher used Pearson product moment correlation coefficient through SPSS 23.00 to analyze the data. The result of this research shows that sig.(2- tailed) value is 0.047. It can be said sig.(2-tailed) value smaller than 0.05 (0.047<0.05). It means that null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected while the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted. The value of correlation coefficient (r) is 0.285. In conclusion, there is a significant correlation between students’ self-efficacy and their writing ability at State Vocational High School 1 Tandun.
