The Influence of Students’ Mastery of Writer’s Text Organization and Vocabulary toward Their Reading Comprehension at Islamic Senior High School Al Islam Rumbio

- The main purpose of this research is to find out the influence of students’ mastery of writer’s text organization and vocabulary toward their reading comprehension of spoof text at Islamic Senior High School Al Islam Rumbio Kampar Regency. This is a correlational research that consists of three variables; two independent variables, namely the students’ mastery of writer’s text organization and their vocabulary mastery, and one dependent variable which is the students’ reading comprehension of spoof text. The research participants consist of 70 eighth-grade students at the Islamic Senior High School. The instruments used to collect the data are only tests. After analyzing the data by using SPSS, the results show that the students’ mastery of writer’s text organization is at the high level (M = 73.07, SD = 1.81)and their vocabulary mastery is also at the high level (M = 70.27, SD = 1.68). Besides, their reading comprehension of spoof text is at the middle level (M = 20.24, SD = 5.15). After analyzing the data by using multiple regressions, the finding indicates that there is a significant influence of the students’ mastery of writer’s text organization and vocabulary toward their reading comprehension of spoof text, in which F = 84.09, p=0.000<0.05. Then, the percentage of the students’ mastery of writer’s text organization and vocabulary is 0.846 (84.09% ). Therefore, the alternative hypothesis is accepted and the null hypothesis is rejected.
