THE EFFECT OF USING ANIMATION FILM IN TEACHING WRITING TOWARD THE STUDENTS’ WRITING NARRATIVE TEXT ABILITY AT THE FIRST YEAR OF ISLAMIC SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL KAMPAR TIMUR

- According to preliminary research, it was found that the first year students of Islamic Senior High School Kampar Timur had difficulties in their writing narrative text ability such as unable to express their idea, unable to develop the text, got difficulties in identifying the generic structure, did not have any interest in writing, lacked in vocabulary of narrative text so that this research aimed at finding out the effect of using Animation Film toward the students’ writing narrative text ability at the first year of Islamic Senior High School Kampar Timur. This research was a quasi-experimental research. Therefore, this research used two groups; control group and experimental group. The writer formulated the problems that would be answered by using the quantitative research. The subject of the research was the first year students of Islamic Senior High School Kampar Timur. The object of this research was Animation Film and their writing ability on narrative text. Sample of this research used Total Sampling. There were 41 students as sample from 41 students. To analyze the data, the writer used independent sample t-test by using SPSS 17 version and effect size formula by Julie Pallant. Based on the data analysis, the writer found that the result effect size formula was 0.50. It was categorized into large effect. It means that there was a significant effect of using Animation Film toward the students’ writing narative text ability at the first year of Islamic Senior High School Kampar Timur.
